The family doesnt like to hang out with each other because they are older than the other person. one might be older than the other and that makes them not want to go to public with them.The family was a type that would get embarrassed if they saw Roscoe because if they were to see Roscoe with his faher when his father if like 10 the they will think why is Roscoe walking with a kid by him and they will think he is a laughing stock and they will not want to know him any more.

In the story they would not do things because there would be a different age matter. Roscoe did not want to hang out with his father because his father was younger than him. Just like when Benjamin was old and his father did not want to hang out with him. If my son were to be and older age than me I would not be embarrassed I would tell people that he is my son.

The beauty in the story was tha if you are married in Benjamins situation you would probably get over your wife/husband. You would get over them because you are getting younger and they are getting oldr so you want the more hoty type girls that are like chearleaders or just girls that are good looking or even if there ugly for there personality.
